Youth (WHOYA)

The Walking Horse Owners Youth Association provides leadership opportunities for its members plus a roadmap for success to help guide youth through their future scholastic and career plans.  WHOYA offers unique, fun learning experiences in which its members create lifelong friendships.</h4>

In February 2000, WHOA formed a committee to establish a youth association with the following goals:

  • to promote the Tennessee Walking Horse
  • to aid you in developing their knowledge and skills in working with each other and the Tennessee Walking Horse
  • to acquaint youth with the organization, activities and function of WHOA
  • to encourage young citizens in scholarship, leadership and community interest

At a March 2000 meeting in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, the committee voted on and formed an organization to be named the Walking Horse Owners Youth Association (WHOYA).

WHOYA is open to all youth age 17 and under. Membership is $20.00 per year, which includes a membership card and WHOYA activities.
